A little preparation goes a long way in resolving your computer and software needs faster. Having this information ready will shorten the amount of time spent on the phone or exchanging emails. Before you call or submit a support request, prepare to give the analyst these details for all issues:
  1. Your first and last name
  2. The name of the business you're calling about
  3. The phone number you are calling from
  4. Your Software Serial Number. It is a good idea to locate this number now, write it down and put it near your system for further reference. This number can be found at the bottom of your PaintLogic main menu under the company name. In the figure below, this customer's software serial number is "90-99999".
These 4 pieces of information allow the analyst to quickly identify the components of your system and any prior issues reported at this location. The data you provide them is only used to keep an electronic record of the details for this call.

For hardware issues please be prepared to supply the serial numbers of the part(s) you are calling about. This information is used to check the equipment's warranty status.
